Would you like to learn to care for ministry leaders? Ken Eichler, the founder of Shepherd Care International, will give training in this important area.
Care Shepherds are those whom Christian organizations have appointed to help their ministry leaders traverse the rugged terrain of personal and ministry obstacles. Life is difficult enough, but one under a magnifying glass constantly examined and criticized can cause a ministry leader to become hurt, disillusioned, discouraged, and ultimately leave their ministry assignment. Care Shepherds offer a safe and confidential relationship with ministry leaders on their team and provide support, encouragement, and counsel leading to increased health and ministry success.

(July 28, 2025) After being evacuated from their rental home in Altadena, thinking they would be returning to it, finding there was no home to which to return, and having no rental insurance to help with even furniture and belongings including clothes, a young couple (both struggling with chronic health conditions) has been trying every identified avenue to obtain funds to survive. They received some monies from insurance on their vehicles which had been destroyed and used two “go-fund-me’s” to purchase a used truck that also needed repair. In addition, they have applied for and received some assistance program funds; however, FEMA has provided nothing so far. The young woman has no real career job and has tried to supplement with dog sitting service; but her illness requires expensive testing and treatment and limits her ability to provide service. The young man received an advance on his employment, but has not been effectively performing due to his own health issues, thereby putting future payments at risk. Due to their respected and trusted relationship with a member of Glenkirk Church, the couple was encouraged to apply for a $5000 grant from our ECO Southern California Fire Response Fund. The $5000 was given to them, as their need is clear and their self-efforts continue.
